Critical Thinking
It is of more worth to know HOW to think than to be told WHAT to think. Students at Acton Academy engage in socratic discussions. Learning to discuss, think, and unite forges character in our next generation of leaders.
Growth Mindset
Acton students are eager to learn. They have a passion for life and a hunger to improve. We foster a culture of strong community, commitment, hard work and discipline. We believe one learns from effort as well as trial and error. We do not hand-hold to keep students from failing but believe failing is a learning experience.

Entrepreneurial
Drive
Students develop a "go out and get it" drive by building their own small businesses. This allows them to learn new skills while strengthening their confidence and preparing for real-world challenges. They then display and sell their products to the at Acton's Children's Business Fair.

Are you a Montessori School?
YES and NO.
We believe Maria Montessori was a genius when it came to studying children and how they learn. We support and use many Montessori practices. Walk into our studios, and you will think you are in a Montessori school.

However, Acton Academy takes education a step further in preparing our next generation for today's challenges. We add a Socratic dimension to our approach. This puts our heroes (aka students) in real world situations where there is not a right or wrong solution or answer. They listen, offer ideas, discuss, and learn to collaborate with peers. Facts are readily available these days. Our heroes need to know what to do with this information and how to act responsibly with it.

We believe Learning to Do and Learning to Be must accompany Learning to Learn.
