Sliding-Scale Tuition
Why a sliding-scale tuition?
Following the principle that Acton is a community joined together to educate children and benefit our community, we feel the sliding-scale tuition model is the solution to bring this unique education to more children in our community and more diversity to our Acton family.
How does it work?
-
Sliding-scale tuition is based on the principle that a family’s financial commitment should be inequitable proportion to its financial resources.
-
TADS, a third-party company, evaluates a family's financial data and makes recommendations to Acton Academy on where the family's ability to pay tuition lies on the sliding scale. The same financial information is asked of all parents.
-
Applying for sliding-scale tuition is optional. Families that choose not to apply for sliding-scale tuition will be assumed as top tier household income and will be assessed tuition in the top threshold.
-
In order to further close the gap between sliding-scale tuition and operating costs, Acton seeks support from grants and generous donors who support our vision.
-
Tuition, fees, and the number of available sliding-scale openings are evaluated and set annually based on funds available to award.
-
Monthly tuition calculations are set on an eleven-month period.
